Low cost storage solution for hosting envirnoment

Hello,

I am looking for a low cost storage solution in a hosting envirnoment. The focus is maximum diskspace with the lowest cost (typical requirement for hosting envirnoment).

I will connect at least one MS exchange 2003 cluster and 2 to 8 IIS servers that will only use it for disk-to-disk backup.

What solution would you suggest?

Probably you should go for a NAS and for archiving purposes in your mail environment, you may go for a RISS.

If you don't mind low-performance SATA disks, then you may start with this box:
HP ProLiant DL380 G4 Storage Server 1TB SATA Model [AE451A]

You can expand the capacity to around 80TB with up to 12x MSA 20 enclosures & 500GB SATA drives.
