Hi,
I've got HP Smart Array 6402 there's battery backed ram on it that I've recently upgraded from 128mb to 512mb, under the System Management Homepage, Home -> Storage ->Smart Array 6400 Controller in Slot 1, Accelerator section I've got following:
<...>
Total Memory: 576 MB
Read Cache: 50%
Write Cache: 50%
<...>
I was wondering if it's possible to change memory percentages for reading writing? This is file server and as I know the optimal configuration for file server is
80% read
20% write

Also is there any way of monitoring current write and read memory loads on the cache?

Thanks all for your help

Hi,

You should be able to change the cache ratio from the ACU (Array Configuration Utility).

Cheers,

Rob

See section "Changing the controller cache ratio" of HP Array Configuration Utility
User Guide. See section "ReadCache, WriteCache" as well.

Syntax:
<TARGET> modify cr=#/#|?
where <TARGET> is a controller, and #/# is the cache ratio in the format read percentage/write
percentage.
Example command:
=> ctrl slot=3 modify cr=25/75</TARGET></TARGET>
