change SN at HSG80 controller

Hi everyone,

is it possible to change somehow serial number at HSG80 controller ?
I mean not to change that HW component :-)
I got Dual HSG80 controller pair and need to change one SN of one member of it.

any idea ?

There is no official documentation. It was possible to do it older HSZ controllers in certain situations, but I haven't seen it on the HSG. Please note that the serial number is used to track any warranty/ maintenance obligations.
Why do you need to change it?

Im not able to explain it, but unfortunately we have two HSG80 controllers with the same serial number :(
I have no idea how this could happened.
and its causing misch-masch at monitoring it by HSG Element Manager, so thats why Im asking.

Nothing is impossible - just wait long enough.

Anyway. Sorry, I can't help. If the system is under maintenance, I would recommend to get in touch with your service provider. Else, you might somebody who is willing to swap a controller module.

Thanx anyway, so I cannot avoid to change the controller module, but nevermind.
I was just curious, if there were possibility to change it at different way.

Yes you can change the serial # on a HSG and the correct serial # should be on the module itself but its not supported for anyone other than a HP engineer to do this and is only done in certain circumstances, it requires a uniquie key which the engineer enters.
The normal resolution to an issue like this would be as Uwe mentioned and contact your service provider for assistance.
