topic RAID 5 Drive Compatibility in Disk Enclosures

On an ML350 G3 ProLiant server, we have one 72GB 10K RPM drive, model #BD017B7B4C, in a RAID 5 along with three other 72GB drives 10K RPM drives - all model #'s beginning BD0728....
The server experiences periodic reboots and I was wondering if there is a possibility that the one drive isn't compatible with the other three in the array. I haven't found a page on this on HP's site. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Bill

just in case can you write down the other model from the other hard drive

but I dont think the server it's rebooting fr that

windows machine? W2003
any error on event viewer? Integrated
management Log?
This is a NetWare 6.5.5 server with the recommended post sp5 patches. The latest HP support pack is HPsp770A. We have two other ProLiant ML350's configured nearly identically and running without problems. This is the only one that has a hard drive model number beginning with BD017B.... The others have hard drives with model numbers beginning BD0728..... The other three drives on the problem server are:
BD0728A4C4, BD07285A25, and BD07285A25. I guess I'm just asking if this particular model of drive (BD017B7B4C) configured in a RAID 5 with the other models could be a problem. Thanks, again.

Hi

Ok i think I much better if you write down here the spare part number from the hard drives

xxxxxx-xxx

it's much easier to compared that because you're telling us that everything is up to date

regards

After checking, I discovered that the drive's serial number was recorded incorrectly and that there is no incompatibility issue. Thanks for steering me in the right direction.
