SA P400 cannot change expand priority

Hi,

We have problem with array expansion on 2 DL 380 G5 servers with P400 controllers and SAS disks. There is no option to change controller expand priority settings in ACU for P400 SA controller, just rebuild priority.

When we tried with HP ACU CLI, we got error: The operation is not supported...

Please help!

Hello,

it seems that you have not an BBWC option installed. This is mandatory for online array expansion, online logical drive extension , online RAID level migration and online strip size migration. With a BBWC installed you can also create logical drives with RAID ADG.

You need to boot the SmartStart CD and use ACU to expand the array offline.

I would recommend to buy a BBWC option, either only the battery kit or with additional cache.
