Hi,

I'm trying to delete some LDEVs which were created using the OPEN-E emulation type from an XP 128, and create new ones using the OPEN-V emulation which will let me have LUNs that are 300GB in size. The problem is that I don't have any parity group that are unused, and all I have is some PG with 4 LDEVs used and other are free.
My question is : Could I have different Emulation types on the same PG? and How can I proceed with that (using the SVP?).
Maybe this emulation type must be the same for the same Parity Group ?

Many thanks,
Farid.

No, one disk group (DG) or parity group can only have one emulation type (Open-.. mode).
And only in Open-V you can have dislike LDEV sizes.
You need to completely clear the DG and reformat it to Open-V.
Once you are in Open-V you can create LDEVs in any size and play around!

Cheers
XP-Pete
