Installing ML350 G5 and additional P400 controller

I turned on my ML350, it detected embedded E200i and additional P400 (installed by me and SAS cables removed from mainboard and plugged into P400) no drives on E200i and 1 logical drive on P400 as I would expect.

I used the the RBSU to specify Ctrl 1 to be P400 instead of E200i.
I used ORCA to setup my RAID as I wish (can supply details if necessary)

My problem is it appears the E200i is still primary Boot Controller. There is a POST error code 055 1785-Drive Array not Configured

Do I need to disable the E200i somehow (it came pre-installed with the BBCW and I confess I didn't remove it, should I have?)

I have managed to set primary boot controller to be P400 but refuses to boot from disk

after several attempts I paused setup at the boot screen and removed and replaced smartstart CD, hit keys and it boot from the CD!
