    <description>The embedded Brocade switch in a HSV300-S is a Brocade 5410, and it runs Brocade Fabric OS v6.1.0_8e.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;You can find official information about that here:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;A href="http://www.techhelp24.eu/techhelp24com/Brocade%20B%20Series/FabOS/Embedded/Version%206.1.0_8e%20HP%205410/v6.1.0_8e_releasenotes_v1.0.pdf" target="_blank"&gt;http://www.techhelp24.eu/techhelp24com/Brocade%20B%20Series/FabOS/Embedded/Version%206.1.0_8e%20HP%205410/v6.1.0_8e_releasenotes_v1.0.pdf&lt;/A&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Internally each HSV300-S is connected to BOTH switches, FP1 to one switch, FP2 to the other switch. It's just like having the controllers connected to external SAN switches.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;The Brocade 5410 switches are accessed through the serial or LAN ports on the controller.</description>

      <description>Hi all,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Does an EVA 440 with embedded BRCD switches still have its own front end storage ports that connect into the BRCD switches?  And are the EVA prots somehow mapped physically to the 10 x BRCD ports?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Do you still manage the EVA ports via Command View and the BRCD ports via BRCD tools?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Also is it supported to loop multiple EVA's with embedded switches via the embedded switches.  E.g. if we have 3 x EVA 440 at a site can we use the switch ports on the embedded BRCD switches to loop to the next EVA etc....&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Many thanks!</description>

      <description>Yes, the EVA front-end ports internally go to the internal switches (there are two cross-connects to tie each controller to both embedded switches.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Correct it is just a HSV controller and a Brocade switch within one module.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;From memory, I am not sure if forming a ring is an official supported topology for the embedded switches. Do you already own an EVA-4400S so that you can log in to the switch a do a "licenseshow"?&lt;BR /&gt;If the switch contains a full fabric license that should be possible.</description>

      <description>Thanks for the responses!&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Do they Brocades support zoning and if so what do we zone in with the host ports/WWNs?  Are the EVA ports visible from within the Brocade tools (SNS and zoning...)&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Thanks</description>

      <description>I always use WWPN-zoning with alias names. It allows me to move devices around. Erm, well, I know that you can't move the EVA ports around on an embedded switch ;-)&lt;BR /&gt;Another bonus for me is that the alias name/WWPN pair gives kind of 'online documentation'.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I have not worked with an EVA-4400S (I don't like embedded switches), but from the description I expect the environment to look like a normal EVA connected to an external switch.</description>

      <description>The internal switches really are two&lt;BR /&gt;12 port switches each with 10 on each side going to the outside world and two cross connected to the two controller ports on the EVA4400.  Same rules apply for doing ISLs between any Brocade switches.</description>
