Where did you get this rom? If it's from a softpaq, what is the softpaq number? Also, if it's a softpaq have you read the corresponding txt file that goes with the sp? Each softpaq has a downloadable txt file numbered the same that has the release notes in it.

Good. If you're going to talk to anyone in engineering,
you can tell them we'd like more info on release notes
on all ROM updates, not just the 5300 controller.

You can also tell them that it's fine that they're finally getting
up to speed on the windows ROM updates,
altough they're not completely there yet.

Smart 5300 fw v2.32 updates:
- More detailed POST description for the Smart Array 5300.
- Increased/improved auto-configuration intelligence for ORCA.
- Support for the 256MB cache board.
- Performance improvements during various caching, data request, and
command queueing scenarios.
- Fixes for various LED blinking issues during drive SMART failures.
- Fixes for various problems reading the smart array serial number.
- Fix for failed spare drives being removed from the configuration
following a controller reset.
- Several error handling and POST error message improvements.
- Increased bus master address range on Alpha servers.
- Includes ORCA v1.82.

I don't have the part number in front of me - but you can go to the controller products page and look at the controller options. The new board is listed there.
