M110R28-02 Firmware Upgrade for MSA 2324fc Dual Controller

Hi guys, I'am having problems after I upgraded the firmware to M110R28-02... I started my upgrade at Controller A wherein PFU is also enabled as by default. After Controller A was successfully upgraded. It continued to Controller B using PFU... But it kept on looping, it continuously upgrades... and base on other threads with the same problem mentioned...

Can you help me on this? The procedure given by the advisory of HP I guess is for those who aren't yet upgraded the firmware. In my case, I need to interrupt the loop??

Hello Joseph,

just disable the PFU. Open a telnet or SSH connection to controller A. Run the following command:

set advanced-settings partner-firmware-upgrade disabled

Enable FTP:

set protocols ftp enabled

Open a FTP connection to controller B and upload the firmware file.

This worked for me.

Hello,

no, just disable the PFU by using the CLI. The loop will stop after the update is finished. It doesn't start again.

During the update the storage controller and management controller firmware is flashed. In my case the management controller wasn't updated proper which caused the MSA to repeat the update.

Followed the workaround discussed by the HP Advisory regarding Firmware Upgrade Loop.
