Hi,

I have attached an fiber disk array 2405 to an Nclass running 11.23 HPUX. When I do an ioscan I can see all of my disk. 3 disk have 512 sectors and the rest have 520 sectors. How can I format the rest of the disk to have 512 sectors? I have loaded commandview but I am haveing trouble running it to see if I can do it that way.

Thank you
Jon

Hi Jon,

the DS2405 was either used standalone or as an extension of the VA7xx0 virtual array.

When used with a VA, all the disk were formatted with 520 blocks - not usable in stand alone.

A good option is to install command view SDM (the VA7xx0 management software; available at hp.com/go/bsc ) and use the format option in "cvui" to format the disks back to 512 blocks.
