topic EVA 4400 - mixing disk model numbers? in Disk Enclosures

We bought a 4400 two years ago with 28 300GB 15K drives (model no. BF300DA47B). All of them are configured in one disk group. Last week, we bought 8 brand new drives (model no. BF300DAJZQ), with the intention to expand the disk group. These drives have the exact same specs and are listed as EVA-specific drives.

Should I mix these drives in one disk group?

As long as the firmware on the EVA is updated (09522000 at least)...

You can check the disk compatibilities in this doc:

http://bizsupport1.austin.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c02498302/c02498302.pdf

No problem mixing models if they are listed as supported on that table.
