Install new disk enclosure

Hi,

We currently have two P2000 G3 MSA systems, both with 2 LFF shelves attached, iSCSI SAS connected. We're wondering what the typical process is to install a new shelf of disks?

The existing systems are connected in the redunant loop setup, where controller A -> shelf1 -> shelf2 ->controllerB

Is it simply that you forceably break the loop and simply reconnect to the new shelf, or is there a more involved process to this? Is it advisable or required to shut the entire system down, what are the risks, is there any documentation on this? I can't seem to find anything on the HP support pages.
