Smart Array P800 in Slot 1 is disabled

Hello All,

I have an issue trying to configure the array controller in my Proliant DL185 G5.

Im getting an error :

283 Smart Array P800 in Slot 1 is disabled because the cache memory board is not attached. Please re-attach the memory board to re-enable the controller.

Also i have an other device --> raid controller in device manager i can not install correctly, the p800 is installed correctly.

The raidcontroller seems fine in the server, anyone knows if this is a driver issue or a hardware failure?

Hi,

as far as the errors go it sounds like the P800 is not installed correctly.

Try re-seating the memory board.

Hi!

I'm having the same problem on ProLiant DL580 G5 (Windows Server 2008 R2) after I installed new version of Array Configuration Utility (9.0.24.0). Error message is: Smart Array P800 in Slot 4 is disabled because the cache memory board is not attached. Please re-attach the memory board to re-enable the controller.

I get the same diagnose also in command line version of Array Configuration Utility.

Disks attached to this controller work OK and controller shows OK also in HP System Management. I have not restarted server yet.

This looks like software bug.

Faced a similar issue which started after the OS and management agents were updated.

Uninstall the current version of ACU and install an older version 8.75.12.0 (22 Jun 2011) from the following link :

Faced a similar issue after OS upgrade from RHEL 5.7 to 6.4

Upgrade the firmware to 7.24 using the link below
