I have an MSA30 with a dual bus that is connected to my rp3440-4 server (HP-UX 11.23). There are twelve 72.8GB hard drives installed into it right now. I have two more drives on the shelf for hot swaps but now I am considering installing them into the two empty slots. With that being said I have a few questions about doing this. When the MSA30 was setup they had set it up as a raid 1-0, stripped six drives on the first bus and then mirrored it with the six drives on the second bus.

1. Once I put the two drives into the empty slots how should i go about adding them into the raid?

2. Or can I add them to the existing raid?

3. I am also in the process of trying to figure out a way to mirror the raid (vg01) onto my SAN which is a PS6500.

Could you post an

# ioscan -fn

I want to know if there is a smart array controller.

Regarding (3) - did you mirror the data to the SAN as suggested?
