      <description>&lt;P&gt;Is it possible to connect an MSA20 directly to a server using an ethernet crossover cable?&lt;BR /&gt;Would it be more efficient than attempting to connect them together through a switch with only the two of them connected to the switch?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;In my tiny brain, it guesses that the bottleneck is the NIC regardless of the efficiency of any other factors in the chain from one device to the other ...       <description>I am trying to clone about 3.8 TB from the MSA20 to another device before attempting an import function in Windows Server 2008. The software indicates "some data" might be lost. We want to clone the data before attempting the import... in the event "some" means 75%...&lt;BR /&gt;The device is a backup server and does not currently have a scsi card... it does have an ethernet card... as does the MSA20.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I'm just wondering if it will work - only to clone the data - not as a full-time connection.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Thanks for the query. . . until that time ...       <description>&amp;gt;&amp;gt; .. it does have an ethernet card... as does the MSA20.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;No, the MSA20 has no ethernet port.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;What you see next to the scsi port is a *service only* (serial) port.</description>

      <description>Via a serial connection to this port you can see the internal controllers POST messages - that's all (more or less).</description>
