How to connect 2 Surestore E SC10 disk array together ?

How to chain connect 2 Surestore E SC10 disk array together and then to a single port SCSI card on an L2000 machine?

Note: I don't have FC60 controller.

Shalom,

You may be able to daisy chain, them if there is a scsi port not in use on the array. If not, you need an FC60 controller or you simply can't do it.

Daisy chain is likely to harm performance.

You might do better adding another scsi card to the L2000 system.

Let's have a look:

in full bus mode disk SCSI ids are fixed to

0 1 2 3 13 8 9 10 11 12

the chassis controllers have

14 15

So what is still unused? HBA(s).

reserved are

7 6 5 4 - that's it - no more IDs.

If you would daisy chain, there will be 20 disks and 4 BCCs + HBA(s) - just too much for SCSI.

hi,

i agree, put another scsi card in the l2000.

they are only cheap to buy now, and then you will have good performance and it will be usable
