Drive reports offline

Hi, 5300 card currently has 5 physical drives (all Fujitsu) configured as 1 logical drive. When I try and add another physical drive (IBM DNES-318350Y) it stays offline. checked jumpers. Drive fine when attached to Adaptec 2940UW card. Any ideas?

What's the disk status under ACU ?
Have you declared this new drive with the ACU ? ( declared as spare or added to logical volume )

Hi Vic,
The drive icon under the ACU is broken red cylinder then the following ??? , Port 1,ID 5. The 'More Information' Button only tells me the ID, slot number and Bus Interface.
The drive has been added to an existing logical volume, we have no online spares.
I have added drives (Fujitsu) in the past to this server and had no problems.
When I reboot the server, it attempts to use the 'faulty' disk but fails.
