lost GUI access to MSA2012fc.

Hi there,

I was using MSA2012fc and suddenly today i am not able to access the ui. while i access throuh http:// it shows up nothing but a blank page but, i can telnet to the array using ip.

any idea how to get the UI back working?

one of my suspicions is that i haven't applied any license to the MSA; does it cause this problem? If license upload is mandate..., how can i do that?

ilan,
There is no license for the SMU. The only license is snap/clone.

Have you attempted to restart the Management Controller during your telnet session?

The web interface uses java script and not java. Do you have it enabled?

Thanks for confirming the info bout the license. The other thing is it worked after the restart of mc. Initially I wasn't in terested in restarting! looks like it requires a restart once in a while :-)

I am having similar problem, before i upgraded the firmware to J200P19 the user interfaces were unavailable after typing any text in the 'email comment' field.
After upgrading the firmware it does the same randomly after changing fields in the email notification page.

Hi, I am also having the same problem. But I have not upgraded the firmware.
I have configured the email notification.
But I am able to ping the IP.
When I restart the controller, I wll get the webaccess. Again it will fail the next day.
Pls help me if u have any idea.

Hi everyone, there's no need to restart the complete MSA. The MSA2000 has two types of processors, one for storage and second for management.
Now, if for some reason the management processor fails to bring up GUI. You can go to the CLI and type the command:

restart mc both

This command is non desruptive in terms of FC traffic and restarts the management controllers, which brings back the GUI.

Hello.

I have the same problem, but before rebooting, I need to be 100% sure that if I restart the "Management Controller" do not lose connection to the servers.

Will understand my nervousness and services are critical to the company and is very difficult to stop the services.

Restarting the MCs will not affect the storage itself.
