Please kindly gimme an overview of what cofig files to look out for on the HORC Manager when configuring BC on the XP256.

You can find configuration template file in Raid Manager home directory (win) or in /etc on Unix platform.
e.a. /etc/horcm.conf
I usualy have 2 conf. files on all systems. horcm0.conf and horcm1.conf.

horcm1.conf I use for S-vol when host is application and backup host too.

After configuring disk pairs in horcm?.conf files and starting instances with horcmstart.sh
e.a. horcmstart.sh 0 (on Win horcmstart.exe 0)
You must set variables for BC: export HORCC_MRCF=1
and for instances: HORCMINST=0 (or =1)
after that You can create pairs with paircreate command.

I believe, that if do not you have Raid Manager, there is not instances horcm*.
The way to do the operacion of BC is with the remote console.
