      <description>Hi, i'm having performance problems with my smart array 3200 controller.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;i have 5 * 72gb disks.&lt;BR /&gt;2 logical drives: 1 Mirror, 1 raid 5 (3disks)&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;i achieve 2 Mb/Sec write performance????&lt;BR /&gt;for read, that is 38 Mb/Sec....&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Any idea what's happening?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Thx !</description>

      <description>Hi;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;You are probably using a small blocksize for your writes.  Try increasing your blocksize, up to 64k.  That should help dramatically.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Good luck,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Vince</description>

      <description>If you're running Windows and you want to change the blocksize on the filesystem, you will need to reformat the logical drive with the new blocksize.  So, yes, you will have to backup/restore the data, as that's a destructive operation.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I was referring more to your benchmark test - if you can use a larger blocksize, it should go faster.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;What are you benchmarking it with?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;-Vince</description>
