If you'll set DS2300 into split bus mode then there're 2 separate SCSI busses controlled by each BCC and I guess you can connect as you want
Eugeny

All,
I have an L-Class servers with 2 4si scsi HBA and one disk array system (2300 Series). Can I used both HBA and have them plugged into BCC-A and BCC-B? Would there be a scsi conflict on the HBA, since by default it uses scsi id of 7? Since I have 2 HBA hooked to the disk array, then I would think both HBA would have a scsi id of 7? Is there a way to change this? Thanks.

No, this does not work at all!
The reason is that the 4si is a RAID controller not just a SCSI HBA. The RAID configuration and metadata cannot be shared between controllers.

Cheers
Peter

Eugeny

This will most probably work. But I assume this is not what K.C. intended to do! I think he wanted to provide an alternate SCSI-HBA/HW path to the very same disks.
But this is not possible this way because the 4Si is a RAID controller.
It would work with two dumb SCSI HBAs that do not provide HW RAID and Mirror-UX.

Cheers
Peter
