      <description>No, you don't need storage area manager to install CommandView.&lt;BR /&gt; &lt;BR /&gt;As asked before, what errors did you get?  What problems are you having to do the install?</description>

      <description>can't cut and paste errors now since have no remote access to machine.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;the installation failed with errors&lt;BR /&gt;none of the filesets were selected and could not even to a disk analysis since the sw install didn't even get to that stage&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;i will have to post the error tomorrow&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;but I read this in the SDM readme file...&lt;BR /&gt;"HP StorageWorks CommandView SDM software works in concert with, and is &lt;BR /&gt;dependent upon, a subset of HP OpenView Storage Area Manager software."&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>I have the CD for CommandView SDM Version 1.06.01, and I don't find anything about OVSAM being necessary.  On the contrary, I have installed CVSDM a couple of times without OV being present on the host.&lt;BR /&gt; &lt;BR /&gt;Please post information about what kind of system you are installing this on (windows, linux, or hpux).
