It seems I'm all go.
All green LEDs too.

But I'm getting
Array Staus
Device is not ready

Only undesireable thing I see is output of armdsp -c
"Link Down"

As said I have all green LEDs on the VA7410

Attach whole output of 'armdsp -a'.
You can find requirements in VA user and service manual which is available from HP support site

It's long, but it's full of vital information. I see that ports M/C1.H2 and M/C2.H2 report that they are down. I do not think that both controllers' H2 frontend ports are faulty. So please check if they're connected to anything and that anything (switch, host) is powered up and initialized successfully. Try replacing FC cable with good one. You know if one of 2 FC pipes is faulty then there will be light in only one direction and only one device will report as it sees light but there will be no two-way communication

On the VA7410 there are 2 host ports on each controller. If you are not using both ports (ie. only attached to one host) then you will see this perfectly normal message.

An explanation:

Front Port At M/C1.H1:
This is the port on the back of the va7410 controller #1 that is marked 'host 1'

Front Port At M/C1.H2:
This is the port on controller #1 that is marked 'host 2'

Front Port At M/C2.H1:
This is the port on controller #2 that is marked 'host 1'

Front Port At M/C2.H2:
This is the port on controller #2 that is marked 'host 2'

Back Port At M/C1.J1:
This is the port on controller #1 that is marked 'disk 1'

Back Port At M/C1.J2:
This is the port on controller #1 that is marked 'disk 2'

Back Port At M/C2.J1:
This is the port on controller #2 that is marked 'disk 1'

Back Port At M/C2.J2:
This is the port on controller #2 that is marked 'disk 2'

If there is no fibre cable plugged into the ports then the link is technically 'down', showing that there is no connection. Since the *status* is marked as 'good' on each of these ports, you are OK.
