Could it be that you have a 'dodgy' CD Writer, if it is still under warranty get it replaced. The other thing , is what software are you using to burn your CD's. I have in the past had problems with easy cd creator, and now am using NERO .

regards
DEV
Hi Folks,

I finally solved the problem! There is an obscure URL (http://www.stas.net/drwalk/) that explains the actual cause. It has something to do with the design of the drive, and it is a hardware issue. I called HP and they promptly sent me a replacement drive. Fortunately mine was still under warranty. I haven't had any problems since.

Good luck!

- Peter

When I last posted the URL, I accidently included a closing parentheses. If you're having problems accessing the site, try:

http://www.stas.net/drwalk/

- Peter
