I downloaded the firmware upgrade and low and behold - it won't work without HP's software. I have the CD burner working now (quick fix if the HP cd-writer broke your computer - uninstall Windows Media Player 7.0 and reinstalling from the windows update website. The software on the CD installs some funky keys in your registry and doing this seems to fix it) but I cannot upgrade the firmware without the required software. Does anyone know where I can download this software or will I be forced to buy the CD from HP?
