HP CD Writer Plus 9300i Windows 2000 software

Software bundled with my 9300i drive is not compatible with Windows 2000. How can I obtain Windows 2000 software short of purchasing the software?

To obtain Windows 2000 compatible software (Adaptec Easy CD Creator version 4.02c and DirectCD version 3.01c, or higher), go to www.roxio.com and download it for free. You'll probably have to have the downlevel software installed (they're giving you an upgrade, not a new license), but check their website first.

Be sure to upgrade the firmware from:

http://www.hp.com/cposupport/information_storage/software/9300_10c.exe.html

Unfortunately, you probably cannot upgrade the firmware once WIN2K is installed. If it's already installed, you may have to temporarily move the CD Writer to a WIN9x machine, update the firmware, and move it back. Hope this helps. Good luck!

Easy CD Creator 4.02c and Direct CD 3.01c are not available for download.There are updates available for download of the Roxio Site but the Version of ECDC and DCD that you got with the 9300i cannot be upgraded to Version 4.02c and 3.01c.You'll need to purchase the updated software,it's not available for free.
