I have heard somewhere that some (older) burners cannot write 80 minute cd's but have never been able to confirm this.

In October someone wrote about this subject and you referred them to an hp document. I'm not certain my problem is the same. I can't get my 9140i to recognize an 80 Minute CDR.It sees them as 74 minutes.
Any suggestions.

Whatever software you are using probably has a default set in the options for MAX size of CD... find it... bump it up to 80 min.

It's software related. Get the lastest
CD recording software update from your
software vendors website. See the Help about
on the CD create software
