When starting up my computer, the read light blinks on the drive. My system will eventually start up, but does so faster when I eject the tray. Once I'm up and running, and try to create a CD, invariably the process crashes. I have updated so many different things, it is hard to remember which ones any more. I have turned off the DMA and auto-notification. I am running 98. The drive is running as a slave off of my primary CD-ROM drive.
