Easy CD prevents driver loading

I installed the XP drivers for my cd-writer 8200 as soon as they became available. I recently installed the XP update for Record Now. Now, when I start-up Windows I get a balloon at the system tray stating that the driver will make Windows unstable and is not loaded. Clicking on the balloon tells me that it is Easy CD Creator causing the problem, but an update is available. The manufacturers update means paying $70 for the latest version. Uninstalling Record Now does not fix the problem. How do I get ride of this software? A system search does not even find it under that name.

Correction: Direct CD is the offending application. Is this encluded in the XP update currently available at HP? How do I get rid of it? Uninstalling Record Now does not help.

ADAPTEC EASY CD VER 5.0 WHICH INCLUDES DIRECT CD 4.0 STILL REQUIRES A PATCH FROM ROXIOS WEB SITE www.roxio.com, simmilar product is available by hp which is called hp DLA, try downlading it.
