Howdy,

I'm running win2k, 256meg. When tried with MyCD, I've got error 18 during the verification step. The cd-rom can't be read of course. Tried with Easy CD Creator, same results. The media I tried are HP sample cd-r that came with the writer, and sony cdq 74cn (4x write speed). I trashed 5 cds.

As for reading, I've always got crc error when I was trying to read entire cd. It was successful for small portion of a cd, like one or two files. No matter burned cd or regular cd.

Please help.

Download the Record Now Software and try to rec. data from the HDD. Try setting the unit as Master and set the unit at the end of the IDE cable.
WIch unit do you really have??It?s a 9100i or 9150i? It?s very important.Please respond.
Use Cd-rw media for testing, end all tasks, includind the Anti-Virus. If you get any errors, press the advanced button and note the errors and send a feedback.

First, my unit is 9900ci, not 91xx. Is there any way to edit the subjuect? Anyway, I tried both master/slave config. What I found is that my cd-r has problem with 'reading cd' only. When I tried to read the cd from my old cd-rom reader, it worked! So, my new 5 coasters turned out to be fine data cd. I tested cd-rw media, the result was same. It writes ok, can't read from new drive, can read from old one. DVD seems fine since I could watch a movie without too much problem.

Thanks for you help.
