Good morning everybody.
I'm new in Jukebox technology.
We're buying a 700ux 2drive jukebox with UDO drives. I'm concerned about compatibility with my previous MO disks. Can I read a MO disk in a UDO drive?
Thanks for your reponses.

Hi,

You can habe both technology within same Jukebox, but the drives will be different as this is red laser (MO) vs blue laser technology (UDO).

cf. this link :
http://h18006.www1.hp.com/products/storageworks/udojukeboxes/qa.html

Regards,
Jean-Luc

Lumar,

if you read the post and check the link you have the answer :
according to documentation, a UDO drice cannot read/write a MO drive

"Since UDO is based on blue laser technology and MO was based on red laser, inherently the two are not compatible"

Regards,
Jean-Luc

I think you may have the option of mixed drive, the media have the same shape, so probably you may be able to add a old stile MO drive and use it for you old drives in the new library
