PST files are the files where the inboxes for Outlook or a similar POP3 mail manager are stored, the most probable issue is that those files are being used at the time of the backup.
For example if you need to backup a Exchange server, you MUST use a Exchange Agent to do so.

Hello,

One of our clients has a Windows 2003 network with a WIndows 2003 storage server and several Windows 2003 servers,

all with Data Protector 3.50.
In the Activity Log of a full backup job there are thousands of "Error 16: File not found" errors.
When I make a new small backup job of some of thes files, the backup is OK.
Does anyone kno what might be te problem and solution?

Kind regards,

Ard Westeneng
VH ICT Diensten
The Netherland

I'll think that the file is in a path to deep for the software, are all this files in a long path or not?

Thanks for your reactions,

I don't think it has to do with the length of the path. I have errors like these:
Network\W2000TS\File Systems\C:\DATA\mailbackup
Error 3054: No volume files or directories were detected Bkp: ADEBOER.PST
Error 16: File not found Bkp: ADMINISTRATOR.PST
Error 16: File not found Bkp: ADRENTH.PST
Error 126: Path not found Bkp: AKLIJNSMA.PST

When I browse to \\w2000ts\c$\DATA\mailbackup these files are present.

Kind regards,

Ard Westeneng
VH ICT Diensten
The Netherland
