We have ESX 4.1.
I want to use one of the Virtual Machine as a Data protector cell manager. We have a MSL Tape Library. Is it possible to assign the medium changer and drive to the virtual machine running with data protector cell manager.
Also 1/8 SAS autoloader is supported with virtual machine ???

I have seen the EBS compatibiltiy Matrix and it shows as "Multi target only (no multi LUN)".
What does this mean ??

EBS link is given below and refer page number 31.

http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c02652279/c02652279.pdf

Hey, I believe multi target means they are on different SCSI IDs.

This link on vmware.com has some more information.

http://communities.vmware.com/thread/124242?tstart=0

You can see in the MSL web interface if the changer/tape drive are on different SCSI IDs or just multiple LUNs.
