we've a dat72 with problems.Data clean is green ever. Hp change us this drive 1 time, but I think the drive works well (new drive). What happens?

Maybe you should call HP again?

Maybe your tapes are the problem?

Tapes are new.
I talk with HP and they changes the drive again but sure the drive is ok.

so uh, what is your problem with the drive?

Maybe you could hook us up with a library and tape tools support ticket?

I try to upgrade the firmware but doesn't works.
The clean ligth is fixed.

Hi, hmm okay.

So let's see, you have used new tapes and new tape drive, upgraded firmware and it still wants new cleaning?

Did you run cleaning tape a couple of times? Sometimes it's required to clean it.

Maybe the tape drive you got was not brand new?

Is the environment clean? I mean if the server you have the dat72 installed in is very dirty then maybe that's causing it..

I try to clean more than 5 times and extract the drive at a few time.The server is in a standard office (no much dirty but a little dirty,:))

Some day we've problems with the backup's (not working) and this day start the troubles with the dat. I change this 2 times...
