Hello!

Customer has ESL 322 with 2 IFC.
We needs to replace first. So we shuted library and 1st IFC was replced.
Then we started library and replacement wizard in cvtl, but couldn't see any components in replacement wizard.
-Hmm, -we said.
And tried to check status of ESL. There are 3 IFC in "show interface info all" or in the status window.
So, we have now 2 real IFC and 1 IFC spirit.
"show interface info all" also shows that the IFC spirit checked as master.

How could we erase the spirit and show to ESL who is the real master?
the wizard should be started before to change the IFC, now it is too late

first option
To clear this situation, and to associate the interface controller with the current Interface Manager card:

In the Library window, click the Support tab.

In the left panel, select Hardware Replacement

Select Actions > Clear WWN Mismatches . The following warning message displays:

TIP: Moving a configured interface controller from one library to a previously empty slot in another library may allow a duplicate WWN to exist in the SAN. The Interface Manager card and Command View TL will highlight this possibility, but the end user will need to take additional action as noted in the next step.

Verify that there are no other interface controllers with the same WWN in the SAN. To view the WWN of the interface controllers, cancel out of the Clear WWN Mismatches dialog and then click the Configuration tab and then select Connection Properties in the left panel. See Changing the connection properties of the interface controllers for more information. After verifying that there are no duplicate WWNs in the SAN, repeat Step 1 to Step 3 to return to the Clear WWN Mismatches dialog.

Click OK . The dialog closes, and the interface controller is now "owned" by the Interface Manager card.

second option is to record your important config value, and reset the esle configuration

/>restore system defaults imnet

after it will restart and clear any mismatch, keeping only the installed ifc

Once this is done and the IFC is rebooted twice, the issue should be resolved. Also, it may be necessary to run the IFC replacement wizard or secure manager resync after setting IFC to DEFAULTS so that IM and CVTL are synchronized.

you will probably end up with having the new WWN of the ifc, and this may cause some issue if ou have hard zoning, you can then eventually change manually the WWN of the new IFC to match the original one

you may have to issue also some sync commands to be sure cvtl and secure manager also get sync

Hardware replacement->Actions->Clear mismatch is disabled.

I can't start it.
When I try to start "replace interface"
and select C twice
it shows 1 controller, but when I type "1"
it says that there're only "R" or "Q"
