I keep getting an Error 1400 Alert Wrong Media when I try to do a backup.

DAT 160 Drive. DDS-4 tapes.

I've tried 3 different tapes. Have formatted them multiple times. Have tried overwriting. Have tried appending. I've tried giving the tape the identical name as the job. I've tried giving the tape a different name than the job. I'm trying to do daily differential backups.

I can't believe that HP doesn't have a knowledge base or a list of errors with explanations. Or are they just hidden somewhere?

I have been getting a similar error message (1401) for the past month on my Tuesday Backup Tape. I've tried identifying the media and it's ok. There doesn't seem to be anything wrong with it. All of the other days work fine though. I've tried to use a new tape and the same thing happens ???

I ended up re-installing the Data Protector application and disconnecting/re-connecting the tape drive. All looks good now.
