data protector express single server edition restore

Hi,
One of our client has installed DPESSE 4 on a server they have done a backup and restore successfully.But now they have changed the server and did a fresh installation of DP and wants to restore the backup taken from previous installation but the DP doesn't showing the data on the tape to be restore.is this something to do with the DP catalog?

hey Ryan it has something to do with the catolog.
the solution for if you have a catalog of the old DP restore it .
and if not you need to import the tape first before you can see the data on the tape.

Hi Thanks, We don't have backup catalog from the old DP.Can you please explain me how to import the tape or pint me to the link.Thanks again.

Ok! We have imported the tape. But now i can see the folders but not the files i backed up and also i am not able to select a restore destination.am i missing something here? should i manually initiate a database repair operation ? can somebody please give me some ideas.thanks.
