Hi!

I've a TL891 Library with a DLT IV inside. They are connected via a 5300 SCSI adapter to a DL380 running W2k with all fixes. I've installed the newest firmware on both the drive and the library.
When I try to backup data, I get the following errors:

(Event Viewer):
The device, \Device\Tape0, is not ready for access yet.
(afterwards):
The driver detected a controller error on \Device\Scsi\adpu160m1.

and in the backup software (Veritas Backup Exec 8.6):
Storage device "COMPAQ 1" reported an error on a request to write data to media.
Error reported:
The semaphore timeout period has expired.

Has anybody the same problem or, even better, found a solution???

go to support.veritas.com and select the backup exec version and select downloads, and download the latest tape/library device drivers accordingly, reboot. then update the scci controller device driver according to the computer manufacturer.
