topic Getting error when running diagnostics in StoreEver Tape Storage

I'm trying to run LTT on a C1537A with an AHA-1535 adapter. The Software is able to communicate with the drive OK during the System Analysis test. But when I try a Connectivity test or a Read/Write test I get an "Error 2407: The i/o request was refused by the OS." The request is a Write buffer command.

I'm running this on Win2K SP3. What could be causing this and how do I resolve it?

Thanks in advance

Can you tell us which version of LTT you are running (on the spash screen or in help -> about)?

Also, are you using the ASPI driver mode, or the NT miniport (selected on the splash screen)?
Go into "services" and stop the Removable Storage service and any backup services (Arcserve, Backup Exec etc) that are running

I'm using the miniport drivers (I don't seem to have the appropriate ASPI drivers) and I already tried it after stopping Removable storage services, but it didn't solve the problem.

I'm running LTT 3.1 SR2 with the April '03 scripts (as opposed to the March scripts that come with LTT).
Thanks Boaz.

The tool version you have is almost the latest (3.2 just released). We're not aware of any fixes for this problem in 3.2.

The ASPI mode (WNASPI) is an option during the install of LTT. The default is to not install it, as it it requires a reboot. This is the SCSI driver from Adaptec. It might be worth trying, if you don't mind a reboot.

One thing that might help us debug this would be to go into the options-> preferences, and turn on I/O history. Then run the test that fails, exit the tool, and then send the eventlog.ltt file (in the logs subfolder) to ltt_team@hp.com.

One guess is that this SCSI card doesn't support one of the commands we are sending (for example, an odd-byte transfer). I think the AHA-1535 is an OEM version of the AHA-1540 ISA card. Is your card officially supported in Win2K?
