We are failing to restore from duplicate copies of archive tapes.
Tape: Travan TR1 20gb
Device: HP Colorado 20gb
The archive sets have been created from a peer to peer network running Win 2K Pro (Serv Pack 3) and Colorado Backup 2 (V9.0). However, we have also archived from a laptop running Win95 and Colorado Backup 2 (V8.1) in the following
order

2 Archive Sets CB2 (9.0) on Win2K Pro
2 Archive Sets CB2 (8.1) on Win95
1 Archive Set CB2 (9.0) on Win2K Pro

As both tapes are failing to restore we can only think that there is a compatibility issue between the archive sets. The software views the archive sets, creates the temporary catalogues showing directory structure and files, seems to spool the tape correctly and then goes into a repeat loop with no restore and no error messages.
Does anyone know, and can anyone give advice, on our way forward.
Many thanks for any replies.
We have had a partial success by updating the drivers from the HP website. We no have Win2K running servie pack 3 with CB 2 and updated drivers. The tapes (both copies) will partially restore before giving error number 07-0E-23-01-030C. FoLlowing this error I retensioned the tapes and tried restoring. Immediately another error appeared (No. 07-0E-23-0304).
What options do we have next?
