    <description>Hi,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;When we are trying to configure the ultrim device ( backup ) we are getting the following error:&lt;BR /&gt;"Device is unsupported, /dev/rmt/0m is not a  bsd style device, use bsd&lt;BR /&gt;style device"&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Any inputs are highly appreciated.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Thanks &amp;amp; Regards,&lt;BR /&gt;Ramesh.K.R.&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>Sorry for the late contribution - hope it helps.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;You don't say what backup application you're using, but I'd guess you need to use the Berkeley style no-rewind device file. Try /dev/rmt/0cbn instead.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;0 = first tape device&lt;BR /&gt;c = do h/w compression&lt;BR /&gt;b = Berkeley (bsd) style operation&lt;BR /&gt;n = don't rewind the tape on close&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;hth&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;D&lt;BR /&gt;#&lt;BR /&gt;</description>
