No ideas?

I hate to give up DPE which meets my needs.

I'm going to install a trial of Symantec's backup exec and see how I do, but I would really rather stay with DPE.

When I recently upgrade my server to Windows Server 2008, my DPE 3.1 sp2 stopped working. I uninstalled it and installed DPE 4. When I run it I get the following error:

Code: 1619 (0x653)
Message: Initialization of database has failed.

Initialization of the database driver has failed, and it could not be loaded. Please contact technical support.

Can anyone help me get this running, I am currently without tape backup!

Many thanks.

Unfortunately scheduled backups don't run properly without the service (since no one is there to start them, except for the service...).
Hi Every one,

Basically the problem is that DPX 3.X is not certified and supported on windows 2008. If you have to use it on windows 2008 SP1 please upgrade the DPX to 4.0 SP1

Regards

Rajanikant
Also please be informed that DPX 4.x doesn't support windows 2008 SP2 or R2 as of now.

So your question doesn't confirm if you have SP1 or SP2 running on your Windows 2008.

Regards

Raj
