Hello Suypeang,

VM compatibility is very limited when it comes to StoreEver. I have attached the compatibility matrix screenshot.

Hope this helps.

VMWare and StoreEver Compatibility

Hello HPE Product sepcialist ,

We have install veritas backup server (VM) version 20.3 within VMware ESXi, 6.5.0, 8294253 . We bought HPE StoreEver MSL2024 series. from veritas backup server (VM) and HPE StoreEver MSL2024 we using Fibre Channel attached tape devices passthrough vs ESXi host.one issue happened while we restart or PowerOn the Veritas Backup Server (VM) the ESXi host alway restart too. My question: does Fibre Channel attached tape devices (passthrough) are supporte by VMware?

Everything I've ever read is tape drives are not supported using virtual fiber in a VM. I've never tried it myself but what your saying seems to support that fact.

For our Tape Media server we provisioned older servers (5+ years old) as the requirements are generally low and we have them lying around.
