Thanks for the info!

Although these drives were designed for HPUX enterprise servers will they work as intended with MSFT OS's such as Window 2000, 2003, XP?

Thanks again for the clarification.

dce

Hi,

I have a several C1537A drives on which I am unable to upgrade the firmware.

Within LLT, under the Selectable column I get values of "Wrong Prefix" and "Wrong personality".

I've included a support ticket as I saw this issue mentioned before but I could find no resolution. This contains information on one drive only.

Yes, this drive has firmware HP02. If you'll look into LTT\s "Get files from the web" you'll see that all firmwares for C1537A are beginning with L - latest is L111.
Please check where and for what this drive is: for example - is it designed to work in Sun OS server? Or under AIX OS? What's the product number of the drive (sticked onto its box)?
Eugeny

Well all three of these drives were my father-in-law's who was a technician for HP, which might explain the odd firmware.

I pulled these drives from workstations that ran Windows 2000 or Windows NT. I am sure that they did not run a flavor of unix.

Two of the drives had their dip switches all on. Another had the 3rd switch turned off which is for regular pc's according to the manual.

Here is the information from the three drives:

Drive 1:
Part No: C1537-69202
Serial: GB00969634
Exchange: C1537-69292
Revision: 3823
WWYY: 0500

Drive 2:
Part No: C1537-67201
Serial: GB00219348
Exchange: C1537-69201
Revision: 3639
WWYY: 1497

Drive 3:
Part No: A3542-60001
Serial: GB00125307
Exchange: C1537-69201
Revision: 3638
WWYY: 1297

Any more insights?

Thanks in advance!

dce

These drives are for HPUX enterprise servers and HP02 is the latest firmware. It's not possible to reflash them with Lxxx firmware in the field
Eugeny
