I called in a dead hard drive today from a server that is out of warranty but under Care Pack, and was told that the hard drive was out of warranty. I gave the support person my 24x7x4 Care Pack #, but he said the Care Pack only covers the server, not the drives.

With some persuasion, I was able to get a drive on its way, but I've been managing Compaq/HP servers for over 15 years, and have never had this issue before. Is this statement of coverage correct?
