    <description>Yes, and no.  &lt;BR /&gt;If you have Solutions enabler, you can do most online bin changes yourself using the "symconfig" command.  Or if you have Enterprise Control Center installed, you can do it from a GUI configuration.  It is not 100% foolproof, but it does do a ton of checking to make sure you are not re-configuring some active volume areas.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;As for third-parties, as far as I know, no one other than an EMC certified SE can apply bin file changes (online or offline) directly on the Symm.</description>

      <description>I was asked if there are any 3rd parties that can do bin file changes on an EMC Symmetix.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;As far as I know, EMC is the only ones that can do this.  Is that true?</description>

      <description>I concur with all of the above.  We use both ECC and solutions enabler to create metas, map storage, and modify masking.&lt;BR /&gt;All except a few mods can be made on your own.</description>
