topic Drive for HPE ProLiant DL20 Gen10 / Unidad para HPE ProLiant DL20 Gen10 in Servers - General

Hi there,

We have purchased an HPE ProLiant DL20 Gen10 server with Product No.: P17079-B21 for the management of our program in our offices at the local network level. We have installed another 16GB RAM memory identical to the original with PN: 879527-091 so that it has a total of 32GB and we have installed it in port B, so far everything is correct.

But we are having trouble finding the right hard drive and installing Ubuntu Server.
We first installed an HPE SSD 5300 Pro with PN: P19933-001. We managed to get the system installed but the fans were going crazy and we figured it wasn't the right one.

Then we installed an HPE LFF Hot Plug SAS 2TB PN: P50262-001 but it doesn't recognize it and we can't even initialize the installation. We have tried with Ubuntu and with Windows Server 2016 without success.

My question is, what do I have to change? And if it is the hard drive, what hard drive do you recommend for a MySQL database?

I have read a lot of articles in the web and consulted the manuals, even when we bought the SAS drive seemed like it was made for this server but we didn't made it. We also have tried in the different BIOS configurations but nothing.

Thank you for your time.

________________________________

Hola,

Hello,

f the HPE Smart Array S100i SR Gen10 SW RAID controller has been enabled in UEFI System Utilities, then it supports only Windows. Please refer to page 5, of the server's QuickSpecs, section Standard Features > Storage Controllers > Software RAID.

When it is set to Legacy BIOS mode and the storage controller mode to AHCI mode, then it would be possilble.

Regards,
