Im not sure if that is possible to not include the version number as all the examples listed have the file name which includes the version number.

Hello everybody,

We want to make a script to update ILO4 and ILO5 firmware.

Now, in this manual : Smart Update Manager 8.9.0 CLI Guide

i see this example:

Linux option 2: ./ smartupdate --c hponcfg-5.2.0-0.x86_64.rpm --c hp-smh-templates-10.6.1-
1481.4.noarch.rpm --f:software --s

Here the filenames include version numbers , so when new version comes out we will have to adapt the script

Are there happy smartupdate users that know a way not to use the version number ?

Thanks in advance , Jan

Update the baseline first and the files itslef will have the revision number listed.
refer to the Smart update manager guide:-
https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/docDisplay?docId=sd00001756en_us&docLocale=en_US&page=v35905018.html

Hallo Bunsol,

Thanks for your reply, but I dont quite understand what you mean.

What we have is a extracted SPP as a baseline, lets say for Gen9.

So thats a folder with plusminus 250 firmware .rpm's for online updates on Linux. Also the ilo4 firmware file are there.

Now, we want to only update ilo firmware , and not the rest, because as you know, ilo firmware update do NOT require server reboots, other firmware do.

so we are looking for something like --component firmware-ilo4-*.rpm or for a switch --firmwaretype ilo4

The alternative is that we make a bseline that is separate from the "full" spp baselien , and contains just the ilo firmware files. But that is extra work for us for maintenance.
