Hello,

As you have suspected correctly, due to the unsupported configuration/compatibility issues, the setup that you are trying to configure might not be working.

HPE tests with the HPE hardware which are mentioned in the related hardware quickspecs for the supported hardware/configuration.

Hence we would not be able to comment further on this as the setup configured might work as with older Dell PowerEdge or it might not work as with IBM FlashSystem 5035 array, as confirmed by you.

Hope this helps.

We have 2 Hyper-V hosts (HPE Proliant DL380 Gen9) that we are trying to get to communicate to an IBM FlashSystem 5035 array via SAS. We are using an HPE SmartArray P441 controller and unable to get Windows to recognize the array. We seperately had the array communicate with an older Dell PowerEdge just fine, so we believe the array itself is working fine.

Our thought is that the HPE SmartArray controller is only specific to HPE storage arrays (which we do have an MSA 2040 via SAS that is through one of those cards on that server).

Does anyone have experience with this that could tell me if it is likely compatibility with the card that is causing the issue?
